Kenya international Victor Wanyama would not be drawn on his future at English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur, but admitted the team has struggled this season.

Wanyama had seemed destined for an exit in the last transfer window, but a proposed move to Club Brugge failed to materialize as the Belgian side balked at his wage demands.

After sitting out the start of the season, he has been included in a few recent matches for Spurs as they languish in ninth in the league, and would not be drawn when pressed about a possible January exit.

“It is not the right time to talk about my future at the club,” he told reporters. “We are facing tough times and my focus is fully in helping the team overcome that. We are working very hard and shall be back to our best.”

Wanyama was also involved as Kenya lost 1-0 to Mozambique on Sunday.

“It was a good game but we had very many chances and were unlucky not to score. We were punished for just a single mistake at the back but we have picked the lessons and will improve,” he said.
