Zamalek head coach Milutin Sredojević faces a crucial few weeks as he aims to keep hold of his job.
White Knights president Mortada Mansour is notorious for ‘pulling the trigger’ so to speak, and if the club fails to navigate its way through a tricky period successfully, ‘Micho’ could be the latest coach to be sacked by the Zamalek boss.
The former Orlando Pirates mentor won the Egypt Cup after just a few weeks in charge of the Cairo club, but following defeat to Al Ahly in the Egyptian Super Cup final and disappointing results elsewhere, pressure has started to mount on Sredojević.
According to KickOff.com, pressure is mounting on Micho with a source telling the publication that if he were to lose to Al Ahly following the international break he would be sacked.
That game, though, has since been postponed due to security concerns, but with a crucial Caf Champions League playoff against Generation Foot and CAF Super Cup showdown against Esperance de Tunis on the near horizon, Micho can ill-afford to take his foot off the pedal.
“I think he will be fired if Zamalek lose to Al Ahly after the international break,” the source told KickOff.com.
“After the dissapointing draw to Masr, where he rested first-team stars, he ducked the media. He’s definitely starting to feel the pressure of the job.”
