Tunisia international Ferjani Sassi has been forced to deny he wants out of Egyptian side Zamalek after he was quoted in his homeland as saying he was ready to quit the club.
The 27-year-old reportedly told media that he wanted a move to Saudi Arabia in the next transfer window, but he denies he spoke to any journalists on the issue.
“I didn’t do any interviews lately,” he told the Zamalek website.
“My relationship with Zamalek and its fans is fine and I am very comfortable here. I hope I can win trophies with Zamalek in the upcoming period.”
Midfielder Sassi has not been in the best of form at the start of the season.
He would have played in the Cairo Derby against Al Ahly on Saturday, but the game was postponed by the Egyptian Football Association for security reasons, and Zamalek told they must play Arab Contractors instead.
