Former Manchester City manager Stuart Pearce has compared English starlet Eddie Nketiah with Egyptian superstar Mohamed Salah.
This comes after Leeds striker Nketiah grabbed an impressive hattrick for England’s under-21 side.
Nketiah, who is on loan from Arsenal, scored three times as England won 5-1 against Austria in the U21 UEFA Euro qualifiers on Tuesday.
Pearce praised the youngster and explained how he is smiliar to two-time English Premier League Golden Boot winner Salah.
“I think if I was a striker in this day and age, a young English striker, I’d just copy Mo Salah in his movement, running in behind,” said Pearce on BT Sport commentary.
“Nketiah’s certainly got that trait about him. The ones that run in behind are the ones that score goals in the modern game.”
Salah remains one of the best players in England having grabbed six goals and three assists in all competitions for Liverpool FC so far this season.
