Mamelodi Sundowns will look to extend their winning run in the Absa Premiership when they host Highlands Park at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Wednesday 23 October 2019, kick-off at 19h30.

Sundowns claimed a third straight league win (and remained the only unbeaten team in the PSL) when they defeated Black Leopards 2-1 away from home on Wednesday, October 2. A strike from Themba Zwane and an own goal from Chris Katjiukua secured the points for the Brazilians.

Highlands were last in league action on September 29, when they claimed a 2-0 home win over Polokwane City, courtesy of goals from Mothobi Mvala and Peter Shalulile. The Lions of the North are unbeaten in three away matches this season.

In head-to-head stats, Highlands and Sundowns have met in four league matches since 2016/17. The Brazilians boast an unbeaten record in the sequence, with two wins and two draws to their name. The Tshwane side has recorded one win and one draw from their two home matches in the rivalry.

Last season Sundowns took four points off Highlands, drawing 0-0 at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium in August 2018 before claiming a 2-1 away win at the Makhulong Stadium in January 2019, thanks to goals from Thapelo Morena and Themba Zwane.
