Algeria captain Riyad Mahrez has opened up his first training session with English champions Manchester City.
The 28-year-old winger joined City from fellow Premier League side Leicester City prior to the start of the 2018/19 season.
Mahrez lifted the Premier League title in his first year with City and he has revealed what the club manager Pep Guardiola said to him upon his arrival.
“He was happy first. He said he was very happy to have me here,” Mahrez told Manchester Evening News.
“He said we’re going to make big things together with the team.”
Mahrez, who also won the Premier League title with Leicester, loves his City teammate David Silva’s ability in small spaces.
“Maybe David [Silva]. He can play in such small spaces. I would take that from David,” he added.
“He is the best at this I think, one of the best in the world.”
