Burkina Faso stalwart Aristide Bance proved that he has no intentions of slowing down anytime soon, as he struck home a hat-trick to lead Horoya to a 4-2 win in the Caf Confederations Cup this past weekend.
The 35-year-old has enjoyed a glittering career that has seen him play for an astonishing 22 different clubs spread across Africa, Europe and Asia.
Bance is now hoping to lead the Guinean giants into the group stages of the CAFCC, and they will be favourites to do just that following their victory over Kenya’s Bandari in the first-leg in Conakry.
Elsewhere, there were also notable wins for Bidvest Wits, Pyramids FC, Al Masry and Enyimba who beat South African second division side TS Galaxy 2-0 in Aba.
The Rockets ,as they are fondly known, famously beat Kaizer Chiefs in the Nedbank Cup final last season, to book a maiden continental voyage.
Despite them playing their football outside of South Africa’s top division, Enyimba head coach Usman Abdallah was quick to dismiss an easy passage into the group stages, and he kept that same energy despite their comfortable win the first-leg.
“That is the most important thing to win and to keep a clean sheet,” said Abdallah.
“The two goals are good and important.
“Now ahead of the second leg, we have to study this match again and sit down to plot ahead of the second leg,” he concluded.
