Iwobi and Mahrez out to impress in EFL Cup

Ivorian winger Gervinho, who is the Parma captain, will be hoping to lead his side to a victory over Hellas Verona in an Italian Serie A clash.

The experienced winger was on the score sheet for Parma over the weekend as they drew 2-2 with Inter Milan.

While Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey is expected to feature for Atletico Madrid when they take on Deportivo Alaves in a Spanish La Liga match.

The midfield maestro played the entire match as Atletico secured a 2-0 win over Athletic Bilbao over the weekend.

Meanwhile, Benin international Mohammed Salisu will be keen to help Real Valladolid cause an upset against FC Barcelona in a La Liga encounter.

The young defender was on the score sheet as Valladolid recorded a 2-0 win over Eibar over the weekend.

Algeria captain Riyad Mahrez will be hoping to feature for Manchester City when they face off with Southampton in the English EFL Cup clash.

The left-footed attacker has netted twice in eight English Premier League (EPL) appearances this season.

Lastly, Nigerian attacking midfielder Alex Iwobi will be eager to inspire Everton to victory over Watford in the EFL Cup match.

Iwobi played 72 minutes as Everton were defeated 3-2 by Brighton and Hove Albion in an EPL clash over the weekend.
