Nigeria forward Kelechi Iheanacho was on target as English side Leicester City won through to the quarterfinals of the Carabao Cup with a 3-1 success over Burton Albion on Tuesday.
Goal-shy Iheanacho’s only other strike in over a year came in the previous round against Luton Town, so while Premier League opportunities are few and far between, he is at least grabbing his chance in the English League Cup.
Iheanacho last goal in the Premier League came against Huddersfield Town in September 2018, despite the fact that he made 30 appearances in the competition in the 2018/19 campaign.
He has not featured at all in the English top flight in this season having fallen out of favour with manager Brendan Rodgers, but will hope his goals in Carabao Cup remind his boss of his prowess.
Iheanacho, 23, joined Leicester from Manchester City ahead of the 2017/18 season and has netted only 12 goals in 65 appearances in all competitions since.
