Joel Matip is set to miss another six weeks of action according to the latest reports coming from England.
The 28-year-old missed the club’s games against both KRC Genk and Tottenham Hotspur already this month, and will also watch from the stands when the Reds host Arsenal in the Carabao Cup this evening.
The Cameroon international is suffering from a knee problem that will reportedly keep him sidelined until December.
If accurate, Matip will miss important English Premier League fixtures against Manchester City and Everton with the Reds currently leading the way atop the standings on an unbeaten record after 10 games.
Matip signed a new contract just two weeks ago, that will keep him at Anfield until 2024.
He has racked up over 100 appearances for the club since his free transfer from Schalke 04 in July 2016.
