Cameroon slipped to a 2-0 loss to Spain on Sunday to exit the 2019 FIFA Under-17 World Cup after three successive defeats, but the path for the remaining African sides has become clearer.
First-half goals from Jordi Escobar and Moriba Ilaix eased Spain to victory as Cameroon failed to get the win they needed to give themselves a chance of a Last 16 place.
They started the brighter with plenty of possession, but were forced into long-range shots that flew comfortably high and wide of the Spain goal.
Spain will now face the impressive Senegal in the knockout stages on Wednesday.
Before that, Angola have a second round meeting with South Korea on Tuesday, while later in the day Nigeria will tackle the Netherlands.
