Several English Premier League clubs are said to be monitoring the progress of Metz striker Habibou Diallo.
According to Express Sports, English Premier League rivals Leicester City and Newcastle United will battle for the Senegal international’s signature in January.
Diallo has scored eight goals in 12 French Ligue 1 matches this season, having helped Metz to promotion in the previous campaign.
The 24-year-old scored scored 26 goals in 37 French Ligue 2 appearances last season as Metz claimed a first place finish and promotion back to France’s top division.
Metz are reportedly demanding £7 million for the forward who has scored 44 goals in 96 appearances for the club since his move from Generation Foot six years ago.
Diallo spent time on-loan at Stade Brest where he scored 16 goals in 50 games before becoming a mainstay at Metz.
He has made two appearances for the Teranga Lions, coming off the bench in his country’s 1-1 draw against Brazil in an international friendly match last month.
