Africa’s final representative at the FIFA Under-17 World Cup is out after Senegal lost 2-1 to Spain in their round of 16 match to exit after a promising start to the campaign.

Roberto Navarro and German Valera scored goals in either half for the European side, who had to ride their luck at times against the impressive Senegalese.

Souleymane Faye pulled a goal back for the African side with five minutes remaining, but they could not get the equaliser in the closing minutes despite some heavy pressure.

They join Nigeria and Angola as having exited in the knockout rounds, while Cameroon went out in the group stages.
