Stellenbosch and Highlands Park will both be looking to bounce back from midweek Absa Premiership losses when they meet at Cape Town Stadium on Saturday 9 November 2019, kick-off at 15h30.
Stellenbosch suffered their fourth defeat of the season – but a first since mid-September – when they went down 2-0 away to AmaZulu on Wednesday, November 6. The Cape side has claimed five points from three home matches this season.
Highlands suffered a second successive league defeat when they were beaten 3-1 at Bloemfontein Celtic on Tuesday, November 5. The Lions of the North have taken five points from as many away matches so far in the 2019/20 campaign.
In head-to-head terms, this will be the first top-flight meeting of Stellenbosch and Highlands Park. However the teams did clash in their current guises in the 2017/18 season in the National First Division: The Lions of the North won 3-0 both in Makhulong and Athlone Stadiums.
Stellenbosch’s line-up from their 2-0 loss to AmaZulu on November 6: De Jong, Mobbie, Van Heerden, Goede, Mthethwa (Moon 69′), Johannes, Zungu, Moroole (Franco 46′), Bergman (Skelem 46′), Isaacs, Rayners.
Highlands’ line-up from their 3-1 loss at Celtic on November 5: Ngobeni, Munyai, Williams, Rae, Mbhele, Mbunjana, Mokoena (Letsholonyane 65′), Mvala, Mbatha (Mogaila 85′), Shalulile, Ndoro (Ramagalela 69′).
