Zambia captain and defender Kabaso Chongo is confident that they can secure a positive result against African champions Algeria on Thursday

The two teams will open their 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying campaign at Stade Mustapha Tchaker in Blida on match-day-one in Group H of the qualifiers.

Zambia defeated Algeria both home and away in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

However, Chongo admitted that the dynamics had changed but they were not going to let that deter their objective when speaking to the CAF website.

“All I can say about this game is we are playing away from home, and when you play away from home, it is always difficult,” Chongo said.

“We are going to push in Blida because we have set two targets. The maximum target is a win but nothing less than a draw will do.

“So, we are going there to work hard, and if we work as a united team, everything will fall into place,” he added.

“We also need to leave Algeria with a good result because we have a tough game to play back home within five days against Zimbabwe to take care of next.”
