Famara Diedhiou struck a hat-trick, and missed a penalty, as Senegal thumped Eswatini 4-1 in their Africa Cup of Nations Group I qualifier in Manzini on Sunday.
The Bristol City forward struck all three goals in nine second half minutes after the west Africans had been frustrated in the opening period and went into halftime at 0-0.
Coach Aliou Cisse withdrew star striker Sadio Mane at the break in search of some freshness up front, after Diedhiou had fluffed a 10th minute chance from the penalty spot.
But he made amends with a quickfire hat-trick after the break, before Fganelo Mamba pulled a goal back for the home side.
Senegal restored their three-goal advantage when Pape-Alioune Ndiaye added a fourth 15 minutes from time for a positive start to their qualification campaign that has seen them take maximum six points from their opening two games.
