Highlands look to break winless streak

Highlands Park will look to break their winless streak in the Absa Premiership when they host Bidvest Wits at Makhulong Stadium on Tuesday 26 November 2019, kick-off at 19h30.

Highlands have gone three league matches without a victory after playing to a 0-0 draw away to 10-man Stellenbosch on November 9. The Lions of the North have taken nine points from a possible 15 at home in the 2019/20 campaign.

Wits saw their winning run in the league brought to a halt by SuperSport United, as they were beaten 1-0 at home on November 8. The Clever Boys, though, boast a 100 percent away record this season, with three wins from as many matches on the road.

In head-to-head stats, Highlands and Wits have met in four top-flight league matches since 2016/17. The Clever Boys have claimed two wins compared to one for the Lions of the North, while one game has been drawn. The Tembisa-based teas recorded one win and one defeat from two home matches in the rivalry.

The league meetings of these two teams last season produced two home wins: Wits triumphed 1-0 in Johannesburg in October 2018, while Highlands responded with a 2-1 victory at Makhulong Stadium in the return game in February 2019.
