Stellenbosch will look to bring Absa Premiership leaders Kaizer Chiefs down to earth when the teams meet at Cape Town Stadium on Wednesday 27 November 2019, kick-off at 19h30.

Stellenbosch registered a fifth draw of the season when they were held 0-0 at home by Highlands Park on November 9. The Cape side is unbeaten in four home matches this season, with one victory and three draws under their belt.

Chiefs continued their great form in the league by claiming a sixth straight win when they defeated Soweto rivals Orlando Pirates 3-2 at home on November 9, with a late penalty from Daniel Cardoso proving decisive. The Amakhosi have taken a full haul of 15 points from five away matches this term.

In head-to-head terms, this will be the first top-flight meeting of Stellenbosch and Kaizer Chiefs. However, when the former was still known as Vasco Da Gama, the teams met in the 2010/11 Absa Premiership: the Cape side won 3-2 away in the first half of the season, while the return game ended 0-0.

Stellenbosch’s line-up from their 0-0 draw with Highlands on November 9: De Jong, Mobbie (Bergman 13′), Van Heerden, Gould, De Goede, Johannes, Robertson, Zungu, Afoakwa (Awono 46′), Isaacs, Rayners (Solomons 71′).

Chiefs’ line-up from their 3-2 win over Pirates on November 9: Akpeyi, Frosler (Parker 72’), Mathoho, Cardoso, Sasman, Katsande, Maluleka (Ntiya-Ntiya 63’), Manyama, Castro (Zuma 46’), Billiat, Nurkovic.
