Al Ahly’s manager Rene Weiler has opened up about his life in Egypt’s capital city, Cairo.
The Swiss tactician took charge of Egyptian champions in August 2019 following the departure of predecessor Martin Lasarte.
Weiler has had a great start at the Red Devils having won his first six games across all competitions.
The experienced mentor, who has coached German side FC Nuremberg, spoke to Swiss newspaper, Aargauer Zeitung.
“Compared to Switzerland, at first glance, many things seem chaotic here,” Weiler said.
“But problems are solved surprisingly quickly thanks to improvisational art and spontaneity.
“We [Al Ahly] have the level of a mid-table club in the Bundesliga. Players here accept criticism, no question. They want to be led,” he added.
“They want to improve. But I have to make sure that I never hurt their pride.”
Weiler guided Al Ahly to the 2019/20 Egyptian Super Cup.
