Former Cameroon international Pierre Webo has taken up a coaching role in Turkey.

The 37-year-old has been appointed as assistant coach at Turkish Super Lig club Istanbul Basaksehir.

Basaksehir, who finished second behind Galatasaray in the league last season, currently occupy third spot in Turkey’s top-flight, two points off leaders Sivasspor.

Webo played professionally in Turkey for seven years, having started and ended his career in Uruguay. He also played in Spain for Leganes, Osasuna and Mallorca.

“New challenge from out of the pitch (sic) thank you Istanbul Basaksehir to make me back at home,” Webo wrote on social media as per BBC Sport.

In total, the former Cameroon forward scored 19 goals in 58 appearances for the Indomitable Lions.
