Senegal international, Mane, also helped his country to a runners-up finish at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations hosted in Salah’s Egypt.
Riyad Mahrez was the next best placed African with the Algeria captain coming in at 10th place. The Manchester City winger has won four domestic trophies and the 2019 AFCON title since the start of the 2018-19 season.
Arsenal and Gabon forward Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang finished 20th while Napoli and Senegal centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly was rated as the 24th best player in the world this year.
