Ajax Amsterdam have suffered a blow after one of attacking midfielder picked up a long term injury.
Morocco international Zakaria Labyad has been ruled out for the rest of the season after sustaining a knee injury.
This was confirmed by the Dutch giants’ head coach Erik Ten Hag, who revealed that the player will be out for a very long time.
“Labyad won’t play again neither in 2019 nor a large part of 2020,” said Ten Hag.
The 26-year-old player picked up the injury during his team’s game against French side Lille in the UEFA Champions League last month.
Labyad has been used mostly as a substitute by Ajax coach Ten Hag this season.
He has joined his teammate David Neres on the sidelines as the Brazilian attacker is currently nursing a long-term injury.
