Champions Esperance host JS Kabylie in Radès on Friday night in a battle between two sides who had wins in match day one of their CAF Champions League Group D campaigns last weekend.
Esperance profited from two early goals to win 2-0 at Raja Casablanca, while Kabylie were pushed hard by AS Vita Club in Tizi Ouzou, but came away with a 1-0 victory.
The home side will be heavy favourites after back-to-back Champions League title wins, and have now gone 16 games unbeaten in the competition with some imperious form.
They are especially strong at home and have won their last 10 in a row in Rades, conceding only two goals in the previous eight games, which includes visits from Al Ahly, Orlando Pirates, TP Mazembe, Wydad Casablanca and Etoile du Sahel.
In fact, the only goals they have conceded in that time came against unexpected opposition in the form of CS Constantine and Elect-Sport.
By contrast, Kabylie’s form of late has been very patchy, with just three wins from their last seven games in all competitions, and only three victories from their last 25 away matches in the Champions League.
It all suggests their task will be too great, and a point would be a massive result for the Algerians.
Senegalese referee Maguette N’Diaye will be in charge of the fixture.
