Stellenbosch will test their mettle against Absa Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns when the teams meet at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Wednesday 11 December 2019, kick-off at 19h30.

This match was rescheduled from its original fixture, with Stellenbosch and Sundowns swapping home and away status.

Stellenbosch have gone four league matches without a win, though their last outing saw them hold hosts SuperSport United 1-1 on November 30. Stellies have taken six points from their eight away matches thus far in the league campaign.

Sundowns broke a three-game winless streak in the league when they defeated AmaZulu 1-0 at home on November 26. The Brazilians have claimed 13 points from six home matches in the 2019/20 league season.

In head-to-head terms, this will be the first top-flight meeting of Stellenbosch and Mamelodi Sundowns. However, when the former was still known as Vasco Da Gama, the teams met in the 2010/11 Absa Premiership: the Tshwane side completed a league double by winning 1-0 both home and away.

Stellenbosch’s line-up from their 1-1 draw with SuperSport on November 30: De Jong, Mobbie, Mthethwa, Van Heerden, De Goede, Awono, Zungu, Matsi, Moon (Robertson 79′), Isaacs (Skelem 66′), Rayners.

Sundowns’ line-up from their 1-0 win over AmaZulu on November 26: Mweene, Ngcongca, Madisha, Lebusa, Jali, Coetzee, Lakay, Vilakazi (Makgalwa 80′), Maboe (Mabunda 90+2), Mkhulise, Meza (Ngoma 70′).
