Amine Harit has been rewarded for his superb start to the 2019/20 Bundesliga season, by signing a three-year contract extension, that will keep him contracted to the German club until 2024.
Harit has scored six goals and assisted a further three in 14 Bundesliga appearances this season, as the Royal Blues do battle at the top of the standings.
Schalke currently occupy fourth place in the league, with Harit having played an integral role in helping the club get off to a solid start.
“I’m very grateful to the club and the management team for sticking by me in difficult times and for always believing in me,” Harit told the club’s official website.
“I’d like to continue repaying their faith in me. I can still develop and want to play in Europe again with Schalke in the coming years. We can only do that as a team.”
Schalke head coach David Wagner added: “Amine is one of a number of players between the ages of 19 and 23 with huge potential who could be the future of the club,”
“I’m delighted that he consciously wants to be a part of this group and wants to continue his development with is. Over the past six months he’s demonstrated just what you can achieve with hard work and a systematic plan.”
Harit, who has been capped seven times by Morocco, joined Schalke from French Ligue 1 club Nantes in 2017.
