Baroka FC will be out to end their winless run in the Absa Premiership when they host Stellenbosch at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday 21 December 2019, kick-off at 15h30.

Baroka have gone three league matches without a win after they were held 2-2 at home by Orlando Pirates on December 7 – though the Limpopo team did fight back from two goals down to claim a share of the spoils. Bakgaga have yet to win at home this term and have claimed just four points from eight matches as hosts.

Stellenbosch themselves have gone five league matches without a win and suffered their sixth defeat of the season when they succumbed 3-1 away to champions Mamelodi Sundowns on December 11. The Cape-based side has claimed just six points from nine away matches in the 2019/20 campaign to date.

In head-to-head terms, this will be the first top-flight meeting of Baroka and Stellenbosch. However, when the latter was still known as Vasco Da Gama, the teams met in eight second-tier clashes (including two games in the 2017 promotion playoffs). Baroka have claimed three wins compared to one for the Cape side, while four encounters have been drawn.

Baroka’ line-up from their 2-2 draw with Pirates on December 7: Chipezeze; Mogaswa (Madondo 72′), Shozi, Farmer, Ngubane, Patjie (Makgaka 57′), Mosele, Mdantsane, Mabeba (Mbulu 56′), Nxumalo, Phiri Jnr.

Stellenbosch’s line-up from their 3-1 loss to Sundowns on December 11: De Jong, Mobbie, De Goede, Mthethwa, Van Heerden, Rayners (Ndlovu 88′), Awono, Matsi, Zungu, Moon (Du Preez 71′), Isaacs (Skelem 79′).
