Bloemfontein Celtic and Orlando Pirates both registered victories in the South African Absa Premiership on Tuesday night.

Pirates returned to winning ways when they thumped Polokwane City 4-1 with Frank Mhango grabbing an impressive hat-trick.

Bn Motshwari netted Pirates’ other goal, while Mohammed Anas scored Polokwane’s consolation goal.

The victory took the Buccaneers to the fifth spot on the league standings, while Rise and Shine remained 13th on the log.

Meanwhile, Mamelodi Sundowns were held to a goalless draw by Bidvest Wits in a clash between two top Gauteng clubs.

As a result, Sundowns and Wits are placed second, and third respectively on the league standings.

Lastly, Bloemfontein Celtic came from behind to defeat Stellenbosch FC 2-1 in an entertaining match on the night.

Two goals from Mzwanele Mahashe and Ndumiso Mabena helped Celtic beat Stellenbosch, who netted through Ryan Moon.

The result left Celtic and Stellenbosch placed seventh and 15th respectively on the league table.
