Bloemfontein Celtic will look to build on their midweek Absa Premiership win when they host Black Leopards at Dr Molemela Stadium on Sunday 12 January 2020, kick-off at 15h30.

Celtic broke a three-game winless streak in the league by defeating Stellenbosch 2-1 away on January 7, with goals from Mzwanele Mahashe and Ndumiso Mabena. Phunya Sele Sele will be looking to improve on a home record which has seen claim 12 points from eight matches.

Leopards suffered a third successive loss when they went down 2-1 at home to Chippa United on January 8 – it was the Limpopo club’s eighth defeat of 2019/20. Lidoda Duvha have claimed just five points from seven away matches so far in the campaign.

In head-to-head stats, Leopards and Celtic have met in 15 league matches since 2004/05. Phunya Sele Sele have claimed five wins compared to four for Lidoda Duvha, while six games have been drawn. The Bloemfontein side has won three of their seven home matches in the rivalry, suffering just one defeat in the process.

When the teams met earlier this season, at Thohoyandou Stadium in September 2019, Leopards claimed a 1-0 win thanks to an early goal from Mwape Musonda. It was Lidoda Duvha’s first victory over Celtic since 2012.
