Lorenzo Gordinho has completed his exit from Kaizer Chiefs.
The Amakhosi officially announced on Tuesday evening that the defender had penned a two-and-a-half deal with Absa Premiership rivals Bidvest Wits.
Gordinho first joined Chiefs’ first team in 2013 after being promoted from the club’s youth development ranks.
The 25-year-old would go on to establish himself as an integral member of the club before eventually falling out of favour and being sent out on-loan to Bloemfontein Celtic in January 2018.
He managed just five appearances for the league leaders this season with Daniel Cardoso and Erick Mathoho the preferred centre-back pairing.
Gordinho joins a Bidvest Wits team who already boast plenty of talent in defence with both Thulani Hlatshwayo and Buhle Mkhwanazi Bafana Bafana regulars.
“I want to thank everybody at Kaizer Chiefs… the Chairman, the Motaung family, all the coaches, the staff… Everybody at the club played a role in my growth as a player and as a person,” Gordinho told kaizerchiefs.com.
“I will never forget the friendships I developed with people at the club’s various levels. I will take all what I’ve learnt at Kaizer Chiefs to the next chapter in my playing career.”
Furthermore, Chiefs have announced that James Kotei has also left the Soweto club having failed to break into the team since his arrival from Tanzania’s Simba FC.
