Stellenbosch and Baroka FC will both be looking to build on wins in the Absa Premiership last weekend when they meet at the Athlone Stadium on Friday 17 January 2020, kick-off at 20h00.

Stellenbosch claimed a fourth win of the season (and their biggest to date) when they crushed Highlands Park 4-1 away on January 11, with Iqraam Rayners scoring a brace of goals. Stellies, however, have managed just one win and six points from seven matches as hosts this term.

Baroka broke a six-game winless streak when they defeated derby rivals Polokwane City 1-0 at home on January 11, a result which lifted them off the foot of the table. Bakgaga have claimed 10 points from eight away matches in the 2019/20 campaign.

In head-to-head stats, Stellenbosch and Baroka have met in just one previous top-flight league match. That encounter took place earlier this season, with the Cape side winning 1-0 in the Limpopo province in December 2019 courtesy of a goal from Waseem Isaacs.

Stellenbosch’s line-up from their 4-1 win over Highlands on January 11: Langeveldt, Mobbie, Robertson, Johannes, van Heerden, du Preez (Bergman 53’), Scott, Matsi, Karuru (Gould 80’), Rayners, Isaacs (Moon 69’).

Baroka’s line-up from their 1-0 win over Polokwane on January 11: Chipezeze, Kgoetyane, Gebhardt, Farmer, Ngubane, Chivaviro, Mosele, Selemela (Patjie 48’), Phiri Jr, Makgaka, Mbulu (Maloka 56’)
