Everton FC manager Carlo Ancelotti has provided an injury update on African stars Jean-Philippe Gbamin and Alex Iwobi.
Ivory Coast international Gbamin has not featured for the English Premier League side since August having suffered a quadriceps injury,
However, Ancelotti explained the 24-year-old defender has made a significant step in his recovery after he returned to training on Friday.
“We have to take care of him. The fact is the injury he suffered was big,” Ancelotti told Everton’s official website.
“He is not ready yet but the fact he started training today is important for him. We have to wait a little bit.”
The accomplished Italian coach went on to reveal that Nigeria international Iwobi will be fit to face Newcastle United in a league game on Tuesday.
“We are also recovering Alex Iwobi and I think he can play the next game [against Newcastle],” he added.
The attacking midfielder has been nursing a Thigh Muscle Strain since late last month.
