Cape Town City and Black Leopards will meet for a relegation six-pointer at the Cape Town Stadium on Friday 24 January 2020, kick-off at 15h30.

City claimed just their fourth win of the league season when they defeated Bidvest Wits 2-0 at home on January 18, with goals from Kermit Erasmus and Craig Martin. The Cape side has claimed 15 points from 10 home matches this term.

Leopards broke a four-game losing streak in the league by holding leaders Kaizer Chiefs 1-1 at home on January 18, with a fine goal from Mogakolodi Ngele. Lidoda Duvha have claimed just five points from eight away matches in the 2019/20 campaign.

In head-to-head stats, City and Leopards have met in three top-flight league matches since 2018/19. Lidoda Duvha have claimed two wins compared to one for the Citizens, while zero games have been drawn. The Cape side claimed a 3-1 win in their only previous home match in the rivalry.

When the teams met earlier this season, at Thohoyandou Stadium in November 2019, Leopards claimed a 2-1 victory thanks to goals from Robert Ngambi and Lesedi Kapinga. Bradley Ralani scored the consolation strike for City.

Leopards’ line-up from their 1-1 draw with Chiefs on January 18: Mendes, Mudau, Masia, Gyimah, Zulu, Matlaba, Ngambi (Kapinga 74’), Abubakar, Bereng, Ngele (Mhlongo 44’), Musonda (Mncwango 85’).
