Orlando Pirates will look to continue their great form in the Absa Premiership when they host AmaZulu at Orlando Stadium on Saturday 25 January 2020, kick-off at 18h00.

Pirates extended their unbeaten run in the league to seven matches with a 3-1 home win over Highlands Park on January 18 – the result secured a third straight victory and saw them claim 17 points from their last 21 up for grabs. The Buccaneers have also taken 21 points from nine home matches this season.

AmaZulu have gone four league matches without a win after they were beaten 1-0 away to KwaZulu-Natal rivals Maritzburg United on January 17. Usuthu have claimed just nine points from 10 away matches in the 2019/20 league campaign.

In head-to-head stats, Pirates and AmaZulu have met in 58 league matches since 1985. The Buccaneers have claimed 25 wins compared to 10 for Usuthu, while 23 matches have been drawn. The Soweto side has claimed 16 wins from 28 home league matches against the Durban side, suffering four defeats in the process.

When the teams met earlier this season, at the King Zwelithini Stadium in August 2019, they played out a goalless stalemate. Five of the last eight league meetings of Pirates and AmaZulu have ended in draws.

Pirates’ line-up from their 3-1 win over Highlands on January 18: Sandilands, Jele, Nyauza, Sam (Ndengane 68’), Mabaso (Dube 74’), Motshwari, Makaringe, Mako, Memela, Lorch (Mabasa 83’), Mhango.

AmaZulu’s line-up from their 1-0 loss to Maritzburg on January 17: S. Mbatha, Darpoh, Mabiliso, P. Gumede, Booysen, Ncube, Magaqa (Ncobeni 62’), Sithebe, Lacny, Chawapihwa (Sikhakhane 70’), Ntuli (Majoro 75’).
