Five teams booked their place in the knockout stages of the 2019-20 Total CAF Confederation Cup on Sunday.

Heading into this weekend’s round of fixtures only Pyramids FC were guaranteed a place in the quarter-finals, but they have duly been joined by five more teams, leaving just two places still up for grabs heading into the final round of group stage matches next weekend.

The first to do so was last season’s runners-up, RS Berkane. The Moroccan club thumped FS ESAE 5-1 in Benin with Alaedine Ajaray netting a hat-trick. They will be joined in the next round by either Zanaco or Motema Pembe from Group B following the Zambian’s comeback win in Lusaka.

Fellow Moroccan club Hassania Agadir were quick to join them with a 1-1 draw away to Enyimba sealing their passage into the last eight as Group D winners.

Furthermore, Horoya and Al-Nasr will advance from Group C while Al-Masry will join Egyptian rivals Pyramids FC in the knockout stages from Group A following their win over FC Nouadhibou.
