Highlands Park will look to snap their losing streak in the Absa Premiership when they host Baroka FC at Makhulong Stadium on Saturday 1 February 2020, kick-off at 15h30.

Highlands suffered a third straight loss when they went down 3-1 away to Orlando Pirates on January 18 – the Tembisa-based side has shipped 10 goals in the sequence. The Lions of the North have claimed just seven points from 10 away matches this season.

Baroka claimed a second win from their last three league matches when they defeated Maritzburg United 2-1 at home on January 26, with Tshediso Patjie netting the decisive goal. Bakgaga have claimed 10 points from nine away matches in the 2019/20 campaign.

In head-to-head stats, Highlands and Baroka have met in five previous top-flight league matches since the 2016/17 season. The Lions of the North boast an unbeaten record in the rivalry, with three wins and two draws to their name. The Tembisa-based side has claimed two wins from as many home matches against their Limpopo counterparts.

When the teams met earlier this season, at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in September 2019, Highlands claimed a 2-1 win thanks to a brace from Peter Shalulile. It was the first away win in the rivalry between these clubs.

Highlands’ line-up from their 3-1 loss to Pirates on January 18: Peters, L. Mokoena, Fransman, Mzava, Ramoraka (Jooste 86’), Mbatha, Letsholonyane (Mogaila 63’), Mbhele (Mbunjana 76’), Mvala, Ramagalela, Shalulile.

Baroka’s line-up from their 2-1 win over Maritzburg on January 26: Chipezeze (Dlamini 58′), Kgoetyane, Gebhardt, Farmer, Ngubane, Masiya, Sampson, Mosele, Maloka (Makgaka 68′), Phiri Jnr, Chivaviro (Patjie 80′).
