We identify five stars to watch in Nedbank Cup Round of 32 action this weekend.

The action already kicked off earlier this week with Chippa United and TS Sporting the first to book their place in the next round, at the expense of last year’s champions TS Galaxy and GladAfrica Championship leaders Ajax Cape Town respectively.

Here follows five stars to watch this weekend:

Lebogang Manyama

The Kaizer Chiefs attacker has been a man revived this season and heads into this weekend’s round of fixtures having directly contributed to 13 goals in 21 appearances across all competitions. He will be aiming to build on his good form against a Royal Eagles team who currently occupy bottom spot in the GladAfrica Championship.

Deon Hotto

With Gabadinho Mhango suspended for the clash, the form forward in South Africa’s top flight will not be on the pitch when Bidvest Wits visit Orlando Pirates. This opens space for someone else to steal the show and in Hotto the Clever Boys have someone who could do just that.

The Namibia international tore Pirates apart in a 4-3 win for Wits earlier this season and has continued to establish himself as one of the best players in the league.

Iqraam Rayners

With 10 goal contributions in 20 appearances, the Stellenbosch FC forward has adapted well to life in South Africa’s top-flight. He has been particularly good in recent weeks and will be eager to keep his form going as Stellies eye a place in the next round.

Felix Badenhorst

The Swaziland international scored a cracking goal to lead Mbombela United past JDR Stars in their Nedbank Cup qualifier. With six goals in South Africa’s second division this season, he is also one of the top marksman and could be the man to fire the Mpumalanga club past Cape Town City as they eye a cup upset.

Bradley Grobler

The SuperSport United forward is notoriously good in cup fixtures for a team that excels in cup tournaments. Coming up against Mamelodi Sundowns in the opening round, though, is not easy feat and if Matsatsantsa are to overcome their Tshwane rivals Grobler will need to be on top of his game.
