Egypt international Trezeguet has urged his Aston Villa teammates to focus solely on the English Premier League.
This is despite a big day at Wembley on the horizon with six points up for grabs between now and the Carabao Cup final, with Sunday’s home encounter against Tottenham Hotspur followed by a trip to play Southampton.
Trezeguet, whose full name is Mahmoud Ahmed Ibrahim Hassan, feels refreshed after returning from the winter break, and he’s ready to take on Jose Mourinho’s team this weekend.
“We have two big games before the cup final and we’ll be ready for them,” Trezeguet told the club’s official website.
“Making the final has given us a lot of confidence and the players are working very hard.
“Everybody has been working hard ahead of Sunday to earn the victory.”
Trezeguet, who joined the club from Turkish side Kasimpasa last July, is determined to repay Villa fans for their support throughout the campaign.
“Every time we play at Villa Park it’s an amazing feeling. We have very good fans that always support us,” he said.
“We always fight for the fans to be happy and we will do everything to make sure the fans are happy at the end of the season.”
Villa will take on Manchester City in this season’s Carabao Cup final on March 1.
