Orlando Pirates continued their hot form in the Absa Premiership with a 1-0 win over Black Leopards at Thohoyandou Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The win is a sixth in succession for the Buccaneers as they move back up to second spot on the log standings, just six points behind leaders Kaizer Chiefs with the Soweto Derby looming at the end of the month.
Thabiso Mokoena netted a late own goal to gift Pirates all three points from Vincent Pule’s cross. Lidoda Duvha remain in 14th spot on the log standings, tied on 20 points with four other teams.
Limpopo rivals Polokwane City are one of those teams with Rise and Shine beating Cape Town City 3-2 at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in the day’s other game.
Goals from Walter Musona, Eden Nene and Puleng Tlolane move Polokwane off the bottom of the league table and up to 15th place.
Edmilson Dove and Taariq Fielies were on target for the Citizens who twice came from behind in the Liimpopo province.
Furthermore, Ioannis Potouridis saw red for the visitors on another tough day at the office as they remain in 11th spot, four points away from the relegation zone.
