Big-name African players will be in action in this season’s UEFA Champions League Round of 16 on Tuesday night.

The action will be headlined by an encounter between former Spanish giants Atletico Madrid and the defending champions Liverpool FC at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.

Ghanaian midfield maestro Thomas Party is expected to start for Atletico and he will be keen to play an instrumental role in helping his side secure a victory.

On the other hand, Liverpool boast world-class attackers Sadio Mane of Senegal and Egypt’s Mohamed Salah, who played an important role in helping the English giants win the Champions League last season.

The Reds have also been boosted by the return of Guinean midfielder Naby Keita with the box-to-box player having featured in the Premier League win over Norwich City over the weekend.

Meanwhile, French champions Paris Saint Germain (PSG) will be away to German giants Borussia Dortmund at the Signal Idina Park.

Mane’s countryman Idrissa Gueye has been very influential for PSG in the middle of the park this season as they look to retain their Ligue 1 title and clinch their maiden Champions League trophy.

Lastly, Moroccan full-back Achraf Hakim is having his best season at Dortmund while on loan from Spanish football heavyweights Real Madrid and he will be keen to help his side overcome PSG.
