Two of Africa’s top stars, Wilfred Ndidi and Riyad Mahrez, are set to go head-to-head this weekend when Leicester City host Manchester City on Saturday evening in the pick of Premier League matches.
Mahrez, who was talked up as a potential future Ballon d’Or winner by African legend Samuel Eto’o this week, will be looking to continue what has been a fine season in the light blue of Man City.
Ndidi, meanwhile, could make a welcome return from injury. The Foxes have struggled in the absence of their Nigerian holding midfielder, but he returned to training this week and is set to play a role in the match at the King Power Stadium.
Saturday will also feature Franck Kessie and Ismael Bennacer looking to inspire AC Milan to victory away to Fiorentina in Serie A, while the top Bundesliga game of the day sees Morocco’s Amine Harit looking to inspire Schalke to a home win over title hopefuls RB Leipzig.
On Sunday the main focus will fall on the Premier League clash between Arsenal and Everton at the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners will hope to see Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Nicolas Pepe continue the great form they showed in thrashing Newcastle United last weekend, while the Toffees’ Alex Iwobi is set for an emotional return to North London.
Elsewhere on Sunday, Odion Ighalo could make his Old Trafford debut when Manchester United host his former team Watford, Victor Moses will hope to feature for Internazionale when they host Sampdoria, and Thomas Partey’s Atletico Madrid will look to back up their Champions League win over Liverpool will victory against a Villarreal side which can call on Samuel Chukwueze and Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa.
