Maritzburg United have not lost a Friday night Harry Gwala Stadium game since 2017. They host Stellenbosch in Friday night’s only PSL fixture on 28 February 2020 and will be looking to keep that record firmly in tact.

Stellenbosch, meanwhile, have started hitting their straps, despite a sluggish start to their first season the Absa Premiership, South Africa’s top tier division.

Their run of form in the first two months of PSL fixtures in 2020 has seen then surge up the PSL table and they are pushing for a spot in the top eight.

A win for Maritzburg would move them into fifth spot on the PSL table, one point behind Wits – who have four games in hand.

Stellenbosch would sit in ninth. A win for Stellies, meanwhile, will put them in eight, for the time being. If this PSL result ends in a draw, the PSL log will take a slight shift with Stellenbosch in ninth spot and Maritzburg in sixth with all of the weekend’s fixtures in the Absa Premiership still to come.

Among one of the big PSL fixtures over the weekend is the Soweto derby with rivals Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs squaring off on Saturday afternoon in a 15:30 kick off.
