The quarterfinals of the 2019-20 CAF Champions League will begin on Friday, February 28. There are two CAF Champs League fixtures scheduled for Friday with a further two to follow on Saturday.

In the early kick off, Zamalek will take on Esperance de Tunis, with the action kicking off 18h00 CAT. The second Champions League match on Friday sees Raja Casablanca and  TP Mazembe battle it out. Kick-off is at 21h00 CAT.

Zamalek failed to turn up for their derby against rivals Al Ahly on Monday and could be fined, according to the BBC. The club said they were delayed in traffic. The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) denied this, and were quoted by the BBC as saying that there were “no obstacles” holding up the team bus.

There can be no such dramas on Friday, though.

The return legs of the CAF Champions League quarterfinal fixtures are scheduled in seven days, with aggregate winners reaching the last four, continuing their way to continental glory.

With nine titles between them (five for Zamalek, four for Esperance), this fixture is one to watch this weekend. But the other CAF Champions League quarterfinal fixture isn’t to be scoffed at. Mazembe have won the trophy five times while Raja have done so thrice.
