Liverpool recorded a 2-1 come from behind win over Bournemouth at Anfield on Saturday to inch ever closer to the 2019-20 English Premier League crown.
African duo Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane were on target for the Reds, as they opened a 25-point gap atop the league standings.
For Salah it was another memorable day with the 27-year-old’s first-half strike his 70th goal for the club in what was his 100th Premier League appearance.
The Egypt international has now scored the most goals after a century of league appearances for Liverpool, seven more than Fernando Torres achieved at the same mark.
He is also the first Liverpool player to score 20+ goals in three consecutive seasons across all competitions since Michael Owen did so between 2000-01 and 2002-03.
Moreover, Salah has recorded the second highest amount of goals in his first 100 games for a single club in Premier League history – behind only Alan Shearer who netted 79 goals for Blackburn Rovers in his first 100 appearances.
“I always love to score and help the team get points,” Salah told BT Sport following Saturday’s win, as per BBC Sport.
“We need to keep going for the next three games and the rest of the season.”
