Stellenbosch will take aim at Mamelodi Sundowns when the teams meet for an Absa Premiership clash at the Athlone Stadium on Wednesday 11 March 2020, kick-off at 19h30.

Stellenbosch suffered a second loss from their last three league matches when they were beaten 3-0 at Maritzburg United on February 28 – their second heaviest defeat of the season. The Cape side has claimed 15 points from 10 home matches this season.

Sundowns were last in league action on February 19, claiming a third straight win in the division when they defeated Bloemfontein Celtic 2-1 at home thanks to goals from Sibusiso Vilakazi and Hlompho Kekana. The Brazilians have claimed 15 points from nine away games in their league campaign.

In head-to-head stats, Stellenbosch and Sundowns have met in just one previous top-flight league match: that encounter took place earlier this season, at Loftus Versfeld in December 2019, and saw the Brazilians claim a 3-1 home win thanks to goals from Themba Zwane, Sphelele Mkhulise and Keletso Makgalwa.
