DR Congolese coach Pamphile Mihayo has been fired by TP Mazembe.

This comes after DR Congolse giants were eliminated from the CAF Champions League quarter-finals by Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca.

The Ravens edged out Raja 1-0 at home over the weekend, but the latter advanced to the semi-finals after winning the tie 2-1 on aggregate.

Mazembe club president Moise Katumbi has now announced that Mihayo and his assistant Charles Musonda will leave their roles with immediate effect.

“I would like to thank coach Pamphile Mihayo Kazembe and Charles Musonda for all that they have done for the team.”

“The pair will be back at the club in future and continue building whatever they had.”

“That is why they will be headed to Europe for further training,” a club statement read.

Mihayo, who is a former Mazembe captain, had taken charge of the Ravens in April 2017 and guided the team to the 2017 CAF Confederation Cup trophy.

He is set to lead DR Congo at the 2020 African Nations Championships (CHAN) finals in Cameroon in April.
