Achraf Hakimi has revealed that he is ready to play for Real Madrid if the club want him to return.
The Morocco international joined Borussia Dortmund on a two year loan-deal in 2018 and is set to re-join the Spanish LaLiga giants at the end of the season.
It is still unclear whether he will be in Zinedine Zidane’s plans for next season, but Hakimi is ready to fight for his place at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The 21-year-old has scored 10 goals and contributed with 17 assists in 64 games for Dortmund, while showcasing his versatility in several positions on the pitch.
“Real Madrid are the club I call home,” Hakimi told Telefoot as per Goal.com.
“I’ve really enjoyed myself there and played lots of games there.
“If Madrid want me to go back, I’ll go back. And if not, I’ll have to write the next chapter at another great club.”
He added: “[Zinedine] Zidane is the man who gave me my chance and the confidence to be able to play professional football.
“I’m grateful to him for his faith in me and the way he has treated me. I’ll always be grateful to him.”
Hakimi has scored two goals in 17 matches for Madrid, having progressed through the club’s youth ranks.
