Zimbabwe international Marvelous Nakamba has urged his Aston Villa teammates to up their game after their defeat to Leicester City.

Villa succumbed to an embarrassing 4-0 defeat at Leicester in an English Premier League clash which was played on Monday night.

Dean Smith’s side endured an evening to forget at King Power Stadium as they were undone by a brace apiece from Harvey Barnes and Jamie Vardy.

Nakamba, who is a central midfielder by trade, shared the pain of the Villa supporters after the reverse to the Foxes.

“It was a difficult night for us. We’re really disappointed, even more so for the fans, they are really disappointed also,” Nakamba told the club’s official website.

“We feel what they’re going through, we feel the pain. We can’t change what’s happened in the past now. As a group, we just need to give once more 100%.”

The left-footed player still believes Villa have got what it takes to record positive results over the remaining 10 matches of the campaign and climb the Premier League table.

“I think we still have some games to play, some points to play for,” he added.

“I believe inside the dressing room, I believe in the players. We just have to up our game, we just have to support each other and give 100% – everyone.”
