Thomas Partey has reiterated that Atletico Madrid are more than aware of the challenges that await at Anfield on Wednesday evening.

The Spanish LaLiga club head to Liverpool with a 1-0 aggregate advantage, but will be wary of the threat the UEFA Champions League holders possess – especially on their own home ground.

Liverpool overturned a 3-0 deficit against Barcelona in last season’s semi-finals on their way to a sixth European crown, which was secured with victory over Tottenham Hotspur on Atleti’s home turf in the final.

The Ghana international admitted that it is a dream to play at Anfield, but is confident that will serve as motivation for the club as they eye a place in the quarter-finals.

“We are ready. It’s a dream to play at Anfield against them and I hope that it’s something that will stay with me forever. We know it will be difficult,” Partey is quoted as saying by AS.

The 26-year-old was superb in the reverse fixture last month and will be hoping for a similar performance agains the English Premier League leaders tonight. Partey has scored three goals in 34 appearances across all competitions this season.
