Ivory Coast international Jeremie Boga is open to returning to former English champions Chelsea.
The attacking midfielder has managed to revive his career at Italian side Serie A side Sassuolo, who bought him from Chelsea in 2018.
Boga has hit the back of the net eight times in 24 outings in the current campaign as he established himself as a key player for Sassuolo.
According to Goal.com, Chelsea hold a €15 million (£14m/$16m) buyback option in his contract at Sassuolo with a second stint at Stamford Bridge always part of his long-term plan.
Boga spoke about his time with the Blues when speaking to The Athletic.
“When I was there, it was Willian, [Eden] Hazard, Pedro. When Jose Mourinho was there, it was [Mohamed] Salah,” Boga said.
“There were a lot of good wingers. For me, it has always been if I can’t play.
“Then I will try to go on loan or try to go somewhere to improve, then maybe come back one day.”
The Serie A has been suspended due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.
