Bidvest Wits head coach Gavin Hunt has insisted that Mamelodi Sundowns don’t need their help to win the Absa Premiership this season.
Brazilians boss Pitso Mosimane jokingly requested that Wits beat Kaizer Chiefs in their two scheduled league tussles against the Amakhosi this season. but Hunt believes Sundowns can do it on their own.
The Clever Boys themselves remain in the title race as things stand, with Chiefs currently four points clear of second placed Sundowns – who have a game in hand – atop the league standings.
“He doesn’t have to rely on me, he knows he can do that for himself [laughs],” Hunt said as per KickOff.com.
“He knows, they are still going to play [fourth-placed Orlando] Pirates. He can beat them or they can beat him. I think they will play Chiefs too. We play Chiefs. It’s crazy, it’s going to be real tight.”
The Absa Premiership season is currently on hold due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic which has caused sporting disruptions across the globe.
